Christy Bishop
Kindergarten Assistant
Christy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services Education from Penn State University, with her first two years spent at the Allentown campus. Upon graduation, she was employed as a Direct Support Professional and Transitional Coach by Strawberry Fields in State College, PA. In addition to the physical and mental health fields, she has experience in several other professions, including pottery, newspaper layout, transcription, homeowners insurance, archaeology, school security, physical therapy, and managed a direct sales business for many years. More recently, she was an elementary classroom assistant in an enhanced autism learning center. She home-schooled her daughters through 5th and 1st grades, out of a desire to provide them with individualized holistic education in a world-sized classroom. When it was time to reenter the traditional work force, she was elated to discover a public Waldorf school at her old college campus. Both she and her daughters are so happy to be part of the Circle of Seasons family!
Christy most enjoys being a mom. Her interests include natural living, caring for and exploring the world we live in, volunteering, food, gardening, music, words, creativity, puzzles, adventures, and always learning.
