Cynthia Hafner
Paraprofessional
Cindy graduated from Messiah College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. In 2010, she was trained and certified in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading to mainly help those with dyslexia. Most of her years were spent teaching second grade in a private school. When the pressure to push young children in a college prep environment became too much, she changed from leading to supporting by becoming an instructional assistant in a public school life skills classroom. Cindy has a heart for those in special education. She decided to join the COS family upon learning about the emphasis placed on developing children’s hearts, hands and minds. She supports the school’s philosophy of structuring the educational environment based upon a child’s developmental journey.
In her free time, Cindy enjoys spending time with family, baking, cooking, and gathering with friends. She appreciates the arts and takes advantage of opportunities to see Broadway shows, tour museums and gardens, and attend local concerts and performances.
