Lauren Martin

Third Grade Class Teacher

Being in the classroom and working with young children always felt natural and lit a flame inside of Lauren, and now, she couldn't imagine her life not working in education. She graduated from Penn State in May of 2020 with high honors and a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education (PreK-4). During college, she had experience working at the YMCA as a school age child care supervisor, the Goddard School as a teacher assistant, Red Door Early Learning Center as a 3, 4, and 5 year old classrooms intern, interning in various elementary schools in the Lehigh Valley and State College, and working as a camp counselor and eventually courses instructor for the Horizons for Youth summer program at Northampton Community College. After graduating from Penn State, she was immediately hired as a full time kindergarten teacher. Now, she enjoys educating (and learning!) at COS with a child-centered, artistic and musical, head-heart-hands approach, and her students continue to amaze her every day. She loves teaching and learning here!
When Lauren is not with her stellar second graders, she can be seen walking her corgi puppy, Boone, with her husband, Peter, or spending time on the water, kayaking or boating (when it's warm enough, that is)! She also enjoys singing, writing, painting and sketching, and playing her flute.
