MaryAnn Columbus

Intervention Teacher

MaryAnn Columbus earned a Doctorate in Special Education from Columbia University, Teachers College. While working toward her degree, MaryAnn served as a research assistant and student teaching supervisor. MaryAnn has over 14 years of teaching experience working with a diverse group of learners, including those in learning support, emotional support and life skills programs. While raising her daughters, MaryAnn became certified as a reading specialist and began working as an Intervention Teacher at Circle of Seasons in the spring of 2021. The Waldorf emphasis on creativity and imagination pairs well with MaryAnn’s passion for art and dance. MaryAnn has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Education with a specialization in Fine Arts. She also did volunteer work at the Greater Ithaca Activities Center where she taught tap and jazz dance lessons to underprivileged children. MaryAnn and her husband enjoy gatherings with friends and family and tending to the grapevines in their yard which yields leaves for Greek dolmades and wine for celebration.
